Thank you for joining us at the 2023 Midtown Arts District Celebration of the Arts Expo!

It was wonderful to see you, Kingston! The community kept the clay room full all day long, and adults and children alike experienced clay coil and tile decorating, as well as wheel throwing!

We made over 100 clay tiles using a Bailey slab roller, then provided an array of stamps and texture tools for the community to get creative with! We loved seeing the designs everyone came up with. These tiles will be glazed and fired at Bailey, then they're bound for a community installation in Kingston. More on that soon!

We also extruded coils using our Bailey System 3 Power Drive Extruder, then the community added their own decoration to the coils, and finally they were added to a community coil pot that grew taller throughout the day. Stay tuned to see the results of the finished coil pot!

We brought two Bailey pottery wheels with us and kept them running all day long, providing demonstrations and guided throwing sessions. This was by far the biggest attraction; we had a line for most of the day, and even Kingston Mayor Steve Noble tried his hand at the wheel with us!
