New! Underglaze Transfers, Part 1: How to Apply Underglaze Transfers to the Clay Surface
Underglaze transfers are made up of ceramic underglaze material that has been printed onto thin paper. They can be transferred to the surface of greenware clay and fired from cone 06-10. Today we will demonstrate how to apply underglaze transfers to the clay surface. 
To apply the underglaze transfer to clay, mist the surface of greenware with water using a spray bottle.
Apply the transfer, with the printed side down, to the surface of the greenware.
Use a very lightly dampened sponge to pat the back of the transfer paper.
Wait a few moments and then use a soft rib to burnish the back of the transfer paper.
Carefully pull back the paper to check if the image has been transferred. If the transfer is patchy or incomplete, put the paper back in place and continue to blot and burnish the back until the image has been transferred.
When the image has been transferred, you can remove and discard the paper.
Build with the clay slab or fire it as is. The underglaze transfer can be fired from cone 06-10. Testing is required.
