Enhance Your Pottery with Professional Wax Resist
What is Wax Resist?
Wax resist is used to prevent glaze from adhering to specific areas of the piece such as the foot of a pot, where a lid and rim meet or anywhere you don't want glaze. Waxes burn off in the kiln. We offer a handful of different types of wax resist each has slightly different properties that lend themselves to specific techniques. Click on the products to see detailed descriptions of each one to determine the best choice for your application.
What is Latex Resist?
Latex resist is a liquid applied to pottery that acts as a barrier for glazes. It creates negative space patterns on your pottery by preventing glaze from sticking in those areas. Unlike wax resist, latex can be peeled off after the first glaze firing, allowing you to apply another glaze for more complex designs.
