New GR Pottery Accessories + Plates Created with GR Forms!

GR Pottery Forms just came out with a new line of WA (Wheel Attachment) accessories designed to enhance the way you use GR Pottery Molds. From now on, all round GR Pottery Mold Forms will come with a hole drilled into the underside of the molds in the center. This hole connects to the new Wheel Attachment that goes on a pottery wheel like a bat.

With these nifty innovations, you can now handbuild onto GR Forms on your pottery wheel! Using the WA accessories will aid in cutting an even lip, helps in developing a thrown foot, and gives the plate support in drying.

WA (Wheel Attachment)

The WA is a GR pottery Forms accessory that allows the maker to attach it to a potters wheel to aid in cutting an even lip, helps in developing a thrown foot, and gives the plate support in drying. A standard round GR Pottery Form then attaches to the spacer pin with the form's center hole (as of March 2018 a center hole comes with every round form). The center hole allows the maker to push from bottom to not disturb the lip.

WA Board

The WA Board is a bat that is used to prepare and work with slabs to use with the WA. The groove in the bottom helps in locating bat pins for easy attachment. The smooth surface allows the maker to compress the slab or add texture with the help of a pottery wheel. The WA Board is also helpful to manage large plates as they are drying. It is made of porous wood fiber so clay releases from it well, but it is not a standard throwing bat.

The WA also has the location bat pin groove.

WA Spacer and Pin

The WA Spacer and Pin are placed in the center hole of the Wheel Attachment. The WA Spacer can be pressed through the WA to remove the centered plate form from the WA bat. The Spacer can be used to elevate a piece from the table to give you room for an angled lip.
