COVID-19 Relief & Resources

COVID-19 Relief & Resources
It’s spring but it’s hard to know what to do some days in these times of COVID-19. With social distancing and the complete disruption of our work and play schedules, some days are just plain difficult. Here in our local community, we have found ways to take care of each other and to make sure people at risk are getting what they need while confined to their houses. This is meaningful and immediate work that needs doing. I know many of you are involved in this and much gratitude goes out to you.

Following is a listing with links of local organizations (Kingston and Ulster County, NY) that are helping people with their needs. Many also need our support if possible.

My concern right now is our health as artists. Although we can take care of food and housing issues, how do we keep our artist souls alive? It is essential to look at ways that keep us focused and creative while confined. Why does it matter? It is because it makes us who we are and helps us bring our humanity to the world.

While we are being attacked by this terrible invader, being creative is a way of staying calm and remembering what is important to us. One day, hopefully soon, this pandemic will subside and we will be free again.
