Carving a Planter using the MudTools Drag Tool

Carving lines in clay is simply satisfying with a high carbon steel drag tool. In fact, it's not a drag at all! We got nice, fluid cuts in the porcelain clay with this double ended tool by MudTools. Then we glazed our planter in Spectrum Glaze's Texture Navy 1143 and fired it to cone 5 in a Bailey Top Loading Electric Kiln. Our plant looks pretty happy in its new home, doesn’t it?

Here are the tools that we used: Mudtools Drag Tool #3, Bright White Porcelain C/6, Texture Navy 1143, Hake 3 Brush Set Goats Hair, 7 cu ft Bailey TL-2327-10 w/Free H.A. Furn Kit, Extra Element Set, Bailey PRO XL Pottery Wheel + FREE Ergo Counter
