WC561 Crystal Palace is a spectacular glaze with remarkable crystalline effects when fired at Cone 5 to Cone 10. Results are inconsistent and erratic but always exciting! A special firing cycle is required to produce crystals: see ‘Tips’ for a sample firing profile. WC561 is independently certified Non Toxic but not recommended for Dinnerware due to the rough surface sometimes produced by the crystals.
NOTE: Glaze can be tinted with the addition of oxides or stains: experimentation is necessary, Without added colorants the glaze is a milky white with yellow crystals as shown.
