Spectrum's 1201 Satin Crackle is a Zinc Free, AP Non-Toxic, clear satin crackle glaze. It is compatible with most commercial underglazes. After the piece has been removed from the kiln and allowed to cool the crackle pattern will form. A colored dye or ink can be rubbed into the surface to emphasize the crackle pattern. Crackle glazes are not Dinnerware Safe due to the possibility of bacteria growth in the cracks. Like all satin clear glazes, 1201 works best when applied thinly: 1-2 brushed coats.
