Plastic bats are easily the most durable choice for throwing bats. They do not wear out due to heavy use, making them popular with schools and group studios. Plastic bats do not absorb water and therefore won't swell or de-laminate and the pin-holes remain true. It is, however, necessary to cut pieces free with a wire shortly after throwing as moisture will not be absorbed from the clay where it contacts the bat.
