These bats are made from a premium MDF board that is slightly absorbent for good clay adhesion but very resistant to warping. They are 3/8" thick making them very rigid during removal from the wheel head. Medex is an environmentally sensitive material containing 90% recycled wood fibers and no formaldehyde. Do not saturate Medex bats or submerge them in water- this will cause them to warp and delaminate.
