Mayco Kiln Wash

Mayco's New Kiln Wash does not crack or peel during firing! It will endure the demands of a studio or classroom firing schedule!

This Kiln Wash is premixed and ready to use and works with kiln firings ranging from Cone 018 to Cone 13 temperatures. Prior to applying, wipe the kiln shelf with a damp sponge to remove dust. Brush two to three thin uniform coats to the shelf, allowing Kiln Wash to semi-dry between coats. Fire shelves to bisque temperature to mature the kiln wash. (It is ok to include bone dry greenware in this firing.)

Do not apply over other brands or types of kiln wash. Completely remove any other formula kiln washes prior to application of Mayco Kiln Wash.

You can apply this to other kiln furniture and stilts to avoid glaze fusing to the surface. Mayco Kiln Wash has been used in salt & wood firings successfully. Can be used on both clay and silicon carbide shelves except for Thermal Lite shelves.

Mayco Kiln Wash adheres to the shelf without cracking or peeling. Customers report the ability to coat both sides of the shelf and rotate/flip shelves without removing the wash. No need to scrape off old applications of Mayco Kiln Wash; apply new layers on top of existing!
