Plastic Ribs
What makes these colorful ribs unique is the fact that they are made from
a flexible plastic material that performs well and actually gets better
with use. Unlike rubber this material will not develop burrs. In fact, the
more you use it the nicer it becomes. They will actually burnish
themselves as you use them.

Each rib shape pictured is
available in four hardnesses from very soft to very firm. You choose
the shape and hardness that suits your clay and your working style. Each
style of hardness is designated by the color of the rib series (i.e. red,
yellow, green, and blue).

The Sherrill Stainless Rib SSH015 is the result of Michael
Sherrill's unique style of pottery and tool development. This handy rib
features curved edges, contours and sharp points that are exceptionally

The Mudcutter has been designed to cut
through a 4 inch round pug or extrusion: perfect for slicing and cutting
all types of hand building projects. At the potter’s wheel, it fits
perfectly in your hand making it a great faceting tool. The Mudcutter
comes standard with a straight wire but curly wires are also available and
can be purchased separately. Once you use this tool, you will ask yourself
'how did I work without it?'
The Carving Bow is a similar tool designed
for cutting, texturing and faceting all clay surfaces. Its compact design
gets you closer to your work. The Carving Bow comes standard with a curly
wire but straight wires are also available and can be purchased
separately.
The handle and frame of both the Mudcutter
and Carving Bow are stainless steel with an insert made from the same
material as the Mud Ribs for a firm comfortable grip. Both have surgical
grade stainless steel wires under tension for precise clean cuts. Designed
not to rust or degrade even if left in a bucket of water, these tools will
last a lifetime!
Replacement wires are available in either
straight or curly designs for both tools. (3 wires per set) The Carving
Bow is slightly smaller than the Mudcutter, thus the wires are specific
for each tool: be sure to order appropriately.

A smart new version of a
classic tool!
The Sherrill Mud Wire features sturdy
smooth plastic handles for a secure comfortable grip. The fine twisted
wire cuts easily and is more flexible than single strand wires for better
control. The Handles measure approximately 1-7/8" x 1"
