Plastic Ribs
What makes these colorful ribs unique is the fact that they are made from
a flexible plastic material that performs well and actually gets better
with use. Unlike rubber this material will not develop burrs. In fact, the
more you use it the nicer it becomes. They will actually burnish
themselves as you use them.

Each rib shape pictured is
available in four hardnesses from very soft to very firm. You choose
the shape and hardness that suits your clay and your working style. Each
style of hardness is designated by the color of the rib series (i.e. red,
yellow, green, and blue).

Sherrill Shredding Tool

SSH015
The Sherrill Stainless Rib SSH015 is the result of Michael
Sherrill's unique style of pottery and tool development. This handy rib
features curved edges, contours and sharp points that are exceptionally
useful for throwing large pots and plates but is still good for smaller
shapes too. The tool is precision cut from 28 gauge stainless steel and

Sherrill Mudcutter
“In my studio, my Mudcutter
(wire tool) is the tool that I pick up the most.” (Michael Sherrill) The
Mudcutter has been designed to cut through a 4 inch round pug, or
extrusion. The design is perect for slicing and cutting all types of hand
building projects. At the potter’s wheel, it fits perfectly in your
hand. This is the best all around wire tool for pugged clay, cutting
spouts, and cutting off extrusions. It works great as a faceting tool.
Once you use this tool, you will ask yourself 'how did I work without it?'
The Mudcutter is made of stainless steel
with a surgical grade stainless steel wire under tension. It is easy to
change the wires, if needed. The handle has an insert made from the same
material as the ribs. The tool is made so you can lay it in a bucket of
water and it won't rust or degrade. This is a lifetime tool.
Replacement wires are available in either
straight or curly designs. The Mudcutter is slightly larger than the
Carving Bow, thus the wires are specific for each tool. (3 wires per set)
