Paragon’s Viking Series Kilns are rated to Cone 10 and built for heavy duty firing. All Vikings are digital and feature the Sentry 3.0 12-key Controller, easy access switch box, and the LiteLid counter-balance spring system. In addition, they come with built-in high amperage fuses, and heavy-duty mercury relays instead of standard mechanical relays. Industrial mercury relays far outlast the standard mechanical relays and are also quieter. 

Viking kilns are built to last with 3” firebricks in the walls, lid and floor. There is an extra 2” high top row of wall bricks in the Viking kilns that has no element grooves. This row of solid brick is less susceptible to damage during loading than a grooved brick. The top row of firebricks not only lasts longer but also gives you a bonus of two more inches of firing chamber depth. The peepholes, both sides of the lid and top rim of sidewall firebrick are hardened and sealed with a special refractory coating that reduces dusting. The massive lid is easy to lift with Paragon's patented LiteLid spring counter-balance. Most people can lift the lid with one hand. The LiteLid sharply reduces wear between the lid and top rim of firebrick.

The Viking series kilns come with a 1-Zone controller and graded elements to balance the heat in the chamber. (An upgrade to 3-Zone is available for an additional charge on all Viking Kilns.)
