The AirPenŽ
The AirPen is a pressurized
pen that you fill with various glaze materials to create intricate
decorations and long flowing "no blob" lines. Infinitely
better, the quick change cartridges and tips make changing colors a snap.
It also reduces hand fatigue when creating intricate decorations.
Remember, the AirPen does not spray glaze (like an airbrush).
The AirPen is used to create continuous lines of decoration. The pump provides adjustable pressure to the pen which
increases accuracy and allows for flow adjustment to fine tune the pen for
various subtleties in the viscosity of glaze, thinned slip, underglaze,
wax or latex resist.

Recommendations:
These recommendations are based upon what we have found
works well. Basically any liquid can flow through the air pen.
Experimentation will determine what works best for your needs.
Tip
Recommended Usages
22 Gauge (Small) - Use with
Lusters, Metalics, China paints, Some very thin glazes,
Underglazes - Be sure to clean immediately after use.
20 Gauge (Medium) - Use with Commercial Glazes, Self Prepared
Glazes sieved through 60 or 80 mesh Sieve & Underglazes, or
thinned slips
18 Gauge (Large) - Use with Decorative Slips, Wax Resists,
Casting slips, Latex. |

The NEW AirPen
Studio Kit has a greatly expanded accessory kit,
a carrying case, a more powerful pump, can be hung
vertically, and the pen can be used to decorate on both vertical
and horizontal surfaces. An explanation of the basic loading and
application process for both versions is shown above and to the right.
