Bailey Wheels are ideal for the ceramic
room! The Bailey Pro Series Counter Pan is the best way to control the usual mess
that is created when students throw or trim. Keeping the clay off the
floor means less maintenance and less dust! This makes for a healthier
classroom environment. Typical splash pans simply do not contain the mess.

Counter-Pan
Design
The Bailey Pro wheel starts out with
one obvious difference from typical wheels - there is no splash pan.
Splash pans are messy to clean, awkward to fasten, and offer no arm
support. Bailey Pro wheels eliminate these problems with our permanent large
counter-pan. This design offers a much larger area to contain clay slop or
trimmings. Clean up takes place conveniently right at the wheel. A
recessed drain and side discharge panel makes clean up even easier. Our
rigid 1/4” thick counter pan is excellent for bracing against!
Throwing Capacity
Our industrial grade DC motors are
powerful and will provide indefinite trouble-free service.
The ST-X
and Pro-X can center up to 50 lbs. of
clay. (equivalent HP: 1/2)
The ST-XL and the Pro-XL
can center up to 100 lbs. of clay. (equivalent HP: 1)

Power and Torque
Customers rave about the fact that
Bailey wheels are super quiet and deliver impressive power over the full
range of speeds. This is because of our superior drive system. It starts
with our “smart” controller which senses when you put a load on the
motor (as in centering).

As you know, when pressure is applied during
centering, you create drag, which tends to slow down rotation. However,
our “smart” controller continuously monitors the speed of the wheel.
The moment reduction in speed is sensed (within a fraction of a second),
the controller instantly compensates by delivering more voltage to the
motor. This maintains the desired speed set at the pedal, much the way “cruise
control” works in a car. The net result: constant torque and speed. We
also have included many other sound deadening devices such as: electronic
capacitors, vibration dampeners, and durable polyurethane drive belts.
Bailey wheels utilize 4 sure-grip polyurethane belts in combination with a
10:1 reduction ratio. This translates into a wheel rotation that is
exceptionally smooth and powerful, even at the lowest speeds.

Frame Design
Our innovative "T-bar"
tubular girder is welded to the legs midway down the frame. This provides
unprecedented stability to the wheel and eliminates flex during the “push”
forces of the centering process. The T-bar also steadies the frame when
extension legs are used. By building in the T-bar, the cost of adding
extension legs is greatly reduced.

Foot Pedal
The unique Bailey pedal is buttery
smooth. There is absolutely no chatter or jerky motion as you adjust
speeds. Our pedal has a fluid feel, and can be fine-tuned to just the
right tension. In fact, you can elevate our pedal and operate it with your
hand or arm. Our pedal has been counter weighted internally for ultimate
balance. Note that there are no annoying crevices or recessed areas to
collect and trap clay.

Drain Area
The drain area prevents build up of
water in the pan when throwing, and is super for a fast efficient clean
up. Just finish with a final rinse of the pan. A rigid PVC drain tube is
included. Drain buckets are optional. Special Note: The drain tube
feature is not included with the ST series wheels (2-piece removable
splash pan).

Great for Containing
Trimmings!
Traditional splash pans are useless
for trimmings. The Bailey Pro Series Counter-Pan is designed to hold large quantities
of trimmings, preventing the trimmings from falling all over the floor and
getting trampled into dust. This greatly reduces maintenance for studio
clean up. All models include our exclusive “side discharge” panel for
fast easy trim removal. Just lift up the panel and push the trims out into
a bucket. It’s as easy as that! A stainless steel beaded chain is
connected to the side discharge panel to prevent accidental loss (not
shown for illustration purposes). See how the Trim Shield can also make
clean up easier!

Bailey Adjustable Legs Sets
(optional)
Our wheels have a standard 19"
tolerance from the ground to the top of the wheel head. To encourage
correct posture for all the different sizes of potters, Bailey Wheels have
developed the best optional adjustable leg system on the market. The short
leg set (for heights 19"- 27") is practical for variable
"higher sit" positions. Sitting on a higher stool, such as a
drafting chair, is far healthier and more comfortable on your back. Many
potters are switching to the stand up position to throw. The stand-up leg
set is for variable from 29” to 37”. Each leg set includes bolts (not
shown) and
hardware. Great for leveling your wheel!
