Bailey has a full 3-1/2" of combined brick and fiber board insulation. We add the extra insulation to the outside of the brick without sacrificing valuable stacking space. This combo-profile is not only a better insulator than 3” brick, it insures you get the extra insulation without reducing the size of your kiln chamber.

Did you know that manufacturers using 3” brick to add insulation to their walls actually reduce the interior diameter by 1 inch! That means you loose about 8% of your stacking space! It also makes it more difficult to lower shelves into position since you have less room for your fingers.

Our kilns are designed to consume the least amount of energy so you get inexpensive firings, extended element life, and less wear on the electronics and the frame. We all need to think about using less energy to protect the environment.

Our Lid Counter Weight makes lifting a heavy lid effortless. The Bailey 16 cu. ft. kiln uses an actual counter weight with pulley and cable to balance the weight of the lid.

STANDARD FEATURES
The 4227-10 is equipped with a 3-Zone Controller and back-up Kiln Sitter. This is the safest way to build an electric kiln: Controller with Kiln Sitter back-up. Standard features include heavy duty elements, an element in the floor, 3 1/2" double wall insulation, 3 Sectional Walls with Lock Down Design, sheet metal under the base, extra insulated lid, counter weight system, 2 no-slip lid supports, 2 lid-to-floor support rods, lid latch, hinged control panel, easy-view controller read-out and individual zone LED's. Kilns are shipped with a cord but no plug. Direct wiring to a switched disconnect is required. CSA approved.
