Kilns & Accessories - AIM Kilns

In addition to the Test Kilns listed on our web site, AIM Mfg. offers larger Top Loading Electric Kilns ranging in size from 17" to 35" in diameter as well as a 42"x 30" Oval Kiln (The “Performer”). All models may be equipped with Infinite Switches and a Dawson Kiln Sitter for “Manual” operation or a wide variety of “Automatic” and “Computerized” controls.


Standard Features on  “MANUAL” AIM KILNS include:

  • Sectional Construction (for easy moveability)

  • Stainless Steel Jackets

  • Large Spy Holes with Plugs (for easy witness cone viewing)

  • Metal Kiln Stand

  • Dawson Kiln Sitter

  • Infinite Switches (for flexible heat input & adjustment)

  • Insulation

    • 2-1/2" Brick lids and floors

    • 2-1/2" Brick Walls on 17” & 23” diameter kilns

    • 3” Brick Walls on 29” & 35” diam. and Oval Kilns

  • Electrical

    • 6' cord & plug on all 240 or 208 volt single phase kilns drawing less than 50 amps

    • 3-Pole Contactor provided for direct wire connection on all single phase kilns drawing over 50 Amps AND all 3-phase kilns regardless of amperage (NO power cord is provided with direct wired kilns)

  • Options

    • 1/2” Fiber Blanket Lining (between brick & outer jacket)

    • 20 Hour Limit Timer

Standard Features all “Automatic” & “Computerized” AIM Kilns are the same as the “Manual” Kilns except:

  • 1/2” Fiber Blanket Lining is STANDARD on ALL MODELS

  • NO SWITCHES on ALL MODELS

All “Automatic” AIM Kilns Feature:

  • Kiln Sitter Included

  • Timer is Optional

All “Computerized” AIM Kilns Feature:

  • NO SITTER or TIMER

General descriptions of some of AIM Kiln’s Control options follow:

“Automatic” Kiln Controls - “Heat Controller”
Set your “turn-up” time from 1-10 hours; the kiln ramps up at a constant rate from 10% to 100% power over that period of time. Kiln remains on 100% power until the kiln sitter shuts off. Indicator lights display the % of power throughout the cycle. Kiln may be set to “Hold” at any % during a firing.

“Computerized” Kiln Controls
(1) “SF300” Controller:
A basic Single Zone Controller with 9 Preset Programs only. Features Delay Start, Controlled Ramps, Constant Temp. Display, Soak Capability and more. NO CUSTOMIZED PROGRAMS or “RAMP DOWN” CAPABILITY.
(2) Orton Unitemp Controller:
A Multi-Zone, programmable controller featuring 4 “User” Programs with 10 Segments in each and 3 “Preset” Programs that may be fired to any Cone. Also: Delay Start, Ramp Down, Soak, Heat-Work Adjustment Software, Alarm Features and more.
