* Spectrum’s R.A.C. Series is A.P. Non-Toxic and Dinnerware Safe with regard to Material Release Tests — HOWEVER — they are NOT recommended for use on surfaces that may come in contact with cutlery because raised decoration is prone to chipping if used in this manner. Avoid using R.A.C’s on the cutting surfaces of bowls, plates & platters.

TO USE: Shake bottle well to condition material. Hold the bottle at an angle and keep the tip in contact with the piece as you draw. R.A.C.’s may be applied to Greenware or Bisque. You can vary the line thickness by altering your drawing speed and the amount of finger pressure you apply to the bottle.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because the R.A.C. liquid is similar to slip, it will dry and harden in the tip unless you prevent it. Insert a straightened staple into the tip to keep it clear while working. When finished, rinse the tip under running water until it is clear.

Crackle Glazes
Crackle Glazes: These glazes produce decorative crackled patterns on the surface. Rubbing ink or dye into the cracks after firing will emphasize these patterns. They are Lead-Free AND A.P. Non-Toxic (making them suitable for use with children) but cannot be considered Dinnerware-Safe due to the possibility of bacterial growth in the cracks if used with food. Apply to Cone 04/03 bisque and glaze fire to Cone 05.
