Raku Up To C/6
This clay is designed primarily for Raku but can be fired as high
as Cone 6. It is quite plastic but contains 20% (30x80)-mesh grog
for excellent building and drying properties as well as warpage
and thermal shock resistance. It fires to a light buff color @
Raku temperatures. For sculptural applications, the high grog
content also increases wet strength and permits thick
cross-sections for large-scale work. It is a pleasant, warm
light-tan when fired to Cone 6. |

Sculpture / Raku Up To C/10
This was originally a coarse handbuilding clay with 25%
(30x80)-mesh grog making it suitable for large-scale sculpture
with large cross-sections. The high grog content also imparts
excellent warp-resistance and thermal shock properties which has
made it a popular Raku body. It contains no fireclay so it fires
very light at Raku temperatures. For sculptural applications it
can be fired as high as Cone 10 and is off-white in Oxidation and
a warm tan-grey in Reduction. |
